Ask AnythingCanker Sore
Anonymous asked 1 year ago

I have constant repeated canker sores (1-2 times/month). Currently have two that have been around for about a month and can’t get rid of them. One of them is quite large and don’t seem to go away. My question is about the white part of it.

I’ve tried googling, but can’t find much info on what it is exactly. The reason is I’m trying to figure out how it relates to faster treatment. Is it basically a scab that should be left alone or is less white better? Salt water didn’t do much, and I’ve also tried hydrogen peroxide/water solution. Both seem to remove the white part and I’m not sure if that’s what’s making it stay for so long.

I’m currently gently dabbing it with hydrogen peroxide/water solution with Q-tip so as not to remove the white part.

So does vigorous rinsing that removes the white better or worse?
